That's strange, I thought this was the default... It certainly was when I tried
it not too long ago. (I had to switch the resolution for a video projector
presentation.) I have no idea why it doesn't work for you.

Bring up the panel controller (what you also use for resizing), then you can
drag&drop your applets.
