My laptop has an eSATA port which allows an external hard drive to run as if it was installed in the machine. If I ever need to run Windows, I will probably set up an external drive and run it from that. I have to check if one can run Windows from a drive other than sda or hda... I am hoping one can. I think just grub needs to be on sda... or so I hope.
