You can change the greeting sendmaill uses - however I suspect that
changing it to your ISP hostname won't make them happy either.
Looks like carrie.gayleard.com has no reverse DNS which could be the
problem ... whereas mail.gayleard.com does reverse.
You could try putting this in sendmail.mc
define(`confDOMAIN_NAME', `mail.gayleard.com')dnl
then rebuild sendmail.cf and restart sendmail .. good luck
