This is not a problem report but rather I want to post to the net the kernel parameters I have
found that allow my laptop to work. So, this is for the seven other folks on the earth
who have a Jetta 1722 laptop running Fedoran 9.
With both the
2.6.25.14-108.fc9.x86_64
and todays
2.6.26.3-29.fc9.x86_64
using the kernel parameters:
acpi=off noapic lapic
allow both the ethernet connection and nvidia graphics card to work.
I had been using
acpi=off noapic irqpoll
but after updates started happening again
(a couple of days ago and updating my system) this no longer worked with the older
2.6.25.14-108.fc9.x86_64
kernel and did not work with the newer
2.6.26.3-29.fc9.x86_64
one I update to today. Thus, after trying a bunch of things (luckly the laptop boots quickly) I happened upon
the above set of parameters.
