Under the odd it is adding this line...

user_pref("mailnews.display.original_date", true);

to the prefs.js file.
It is considered a "hidden" option since it does not show up in the
"advanced editor" display.  That line is either in the prefs.js or not.
I searched through the "advanced editor" display several times but if you don't know what you are looking for that's a difficult task! I appreciate the information and will add it to my notes.
So, if you don't want to install the ConfigDate addon you can simply add
the line above.
