Fedora upgrade breaks openLDAP

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I just upgraded a system from Fedora 7 to Fedora 9 (directly, using
the official Fedora 9 DVD). Everything appears to be working ok with
the exception of the OpenLDAP server. It appears to be doing
anonymous binds ok, but any attempt to actually do an ldapsearch or
use the LDAP server for querying users fails badly. For example, I
have a number of other Linux systems which rely on the LDAP server for
user authentication (ssh mostly), and that fails with:
id: cannot find name for user ID 3215
id: cannot find name for group ID 3215
id: cannot find name for user ID 3215

where the ID number is the actual UID# that the user should have.

Anyone run into this after upgrading LDAP ?
