I must say Paul was right: I rebooted yesterday to Windows XP (it's a dual-boot system) and cd-rom drive worked as it should. It's a software issue indeed, probably bug #451320. Well, I hope it get fixed soon, as it is my cd-rom is almost useless on Linux =( Thks to all that replied.
