Yes. Something like that. I want to be able to compile the thing in some
other system. I thought my F8 box would give me a stable test ground.
Probably not. If the other system is F8, then it can use the binary
package. If the other system is not F8, then you can't expect the build
process to be exactly the same there.
If you want to build the application on Fedora 8, I recommend not
building the libraries from source. You are likely to create a
situation where you break the working applications on your system.
Instead, install "gtk2-devel" with yum. That should pull in everything
that you need to build a GTK+ application.
