shouldn't that be pci=routeirq (Q not G)?

I can't imagine what would be happening between boot 2 and boot 3 unless
you updated the kernel in which case, it's possible that the new kernel
didn't get those instructions.

what is output of 'cat /boot/grub/grub.conf'  ?
