Hi,
when I connect to my remote (headless) fedora 9 gnome desktop via VNC, after a while I receive a pop-up message saying:

There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings
may not work correctly.
The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next
time you log in.
****
During the whole VNC session I encounter the following problems:
* Application startup is quite slow (Nautilus produces high cpu load during app startup)
* Restricted functions are disabled, e.g.
* I cannot install new packages with 'gpk-application': the "Install" button is grayed out
* in VNC sessions for non-root users I cannot access/mount removable media
via the Gnome Desktop
* continuous key press is not recognized
VNC is run as Xvnc service.
The VNC session is run for the root user.
Fedora 9 was installed from the LiveCD (because of a known problem with samsung
hard disks i ran into using the regular install media)
This is my /root/.vnc/xstartup file:
