Mass storage Device doesn't get mounted automatically

hi,

i have got a problem with a mass storage device (usb-stick).

if i plug it in it doesn't appear on my gnome desktop (2.22.2)
but if i restart gnome after that i appears on my desktop.
i use fedora 9. other usb-sticks appears immediately, after connection.
i already formatted the stick. but this doesn't help.

but i use this stick on a other fedora 9 (with gnome) machine, it works without
problems. perhaps there are any cache or tmp files?

i also tried it with an other user. but this doesn't help, so it can not be an misconfiguration
of a user config file.

the strange thing is that, if i restart gnome the stick appears on my desktop, but the icon looks like a normal disc. normally there is a usb-symbol over the disc (using std. fedora icon theme)
on my second machine it appears correct...

any ideas?

regards,
patrick
