First I looked at the missing dependencies and decided that they weren't legit because they were all fc8 related and I am not pointed at any fc8 repositories anymore. I tried deleting them with "rpm -e --nodeps" but that didn't seem to work. So I resorted to "yum remove kmod-ndiswrapper-2...." and "yum remove kmod-nvidia-2..." until I had the 4 of them removed. Then I ran the update with "yum update". Then I ran "yum install kmod-ndiswrapper" and "yum install kmod-nvidia" Then I rebooted, successfully. Everything seems to work find now. I have no idea where the fc8 files came from. rpm couldn't find them. I think they were in a yum database somewhere. I tried "yum clean all" but that didn't get rid of them either. Removing them explicitly did, however. Thanks for the tips and I hope this helps someone.
