Does anyone know what the current status of Fedora 9 and the "fglrx"
proprietary ATI video driver is? Are we still out-of-luck?

When I installed an ATI video card in this (F8) computer, I discovered that to
get the correct resolution for my monitor (1680x1050) I had to install the
proprietary driver -- the built-in driver didn't go to that resolution.

I'm currently holding off on updating to F9 because it's my understanding that
the proprietary ATI driver is not yet available for F9. I just checked the
livna package list for F9 and don't see it there.....

Although the Livna package isn't available, F9 booted right up to 1680x1050 (the preferred resolution of my HP w2207h) on my Radeon 3850 without even so much as asking what settings I wanted. That, as far as I know, was with either the VESA or default ATI driver (I haven't bothered to check which), though I'll admit I'm irritated that 3d acceleration isn't present.

Eagerly awaiting Livna's release...
Raymond
