Exactly.
But there didn't seem any way to get out of this state.
When I re-booted the icon had disappeared from the panel,
and I'm using it from f=>Applications where it remains.

As I said, there are a few things to iron out with KDE-4,
but I for one am happy to use it in the meantime.
