F9: new kmods: ivtv, linux-uvc

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

Just installed F9 preview (upgraded my F8). For some reason, neither nautilus nor gnome-panel launched when it came back up, but I upgraded nearly 200 packages with yum, and now everything looks good.

I was pleased to see the ivtv (TV-PVR cards) and linux-uvc (webcams) kmods are now included in the base. Yay!

One minor issue with regard to the former: bundled with the =< F8 ivtv ATRPMS packages were some command-line utilities, among which I found very useful was one called "ivtv-tune". I wrote a bash wrapper for it to change channels, since I use vlc for viewing (it is hard to find a tv program which supports the PVR cards) and it can't change channels itself.

Any ideas where these utilities have gone?
