I looked at my /var/log/messages and I see a "CPU 1 Not Responding". Could this indicate
that my hardware, the CPU, has actually lost one of the two cores due to some electronic
failure? (I had a Ubuntu 7.x CD laying around, i booted w/ it (but did not install
anything), and it too showed just 1 core.) May be I have a chip failure of some type?
