Can someone give me a pointer about where maybe to look for a solution here?
System: Asus P5N32-E
Sound: 00:0f.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP55 High Definition

The problem is that, periodically, and after the machine has been on a
while, the sound system will just lock up. If I try to play (say) an ogg
file, even after shutting down X and using a normal login session
(ogg123...), the playback sounds like a "broken record"; it seems stuck,
more or less. And it just isn't ogg, and it just isn't for a single user.
Could unloading and reloading modules possibly help? If so, which ones
to try? That might at least point to the source of the bug. But then, I
tried "rmmod hda_intel", and it said the module was in use....
