You need to select the "40/104-bit Hexadecimal" option then type the key into the field (as one string of digits, no hyphens or separators of any kind and select "Shared Key" for the Authentication method. The "Network Name" field will be the router name (from your mail, I can guess that it would be "2WIRE783" or similar).
