Possible Installation Bug

Hi

I've just installed Fedora 8 on an i386 workstation trying out a usb bootmedia
and nfs mount of the dvd.

Everything seemed fine, but on configuring the workstation to use a remote
mount for the user home directories and ypbind for nis logins, groups, etc. I
got errors during login saying that the home directory didn't exist. This was
for console logins as well as KDE/Gnome.

After a console login, you were put to / as the default directory, but issuing
a cd commend put you into the correct user home directory with full access -
so the mount was working okay. It also works on to several other
workstations, so I don't think there is a problem with the server side nfs.

Eventually, I gave up and reinstalled using the DVD directly and everything
worked okay.

Best Wishes

Nick R
