Hi,
Perhaps this has been covered before, if so please forgive.
I have an installation of F8 where during install I decided to go for
DHCP. After a week or so decided to have the IP static but the machine
is stuck on DHCP!. It ignores my /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
I have made sure /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 is properly
set. Have done this gazzilion of time. Has anyone heard of this issue?
I don't think its enough to change just the configuration file anymore.
It gets re-written by something else.
I kinda suspected that. I have been hearing about NetworkManager but
have not really investigated.
Why didn't you just change it
using system-config-network?
Old habits die hard :). The only time I actually used the
system-config* tools was to conform with my RHCE exam hehe.
That utility should change everything
thats necessary in order to make it work correctly.

Jason
