I was not meaning to slight Konqueror. This works there too. Or it did
some time ago. However you will have to find the 'place' to do these
setting in Konqueror yourself. But I would imagine it would be similar.
Again it used to be that way.

yum install squid

goto the 'Services menu' and set squid to start on boot. I set mine for
levels 3, 4 and 5.

Start it now.

Save the changes and close.

open Firefox (again not sure where in Konqueror)

Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Settings

select   Manual proxy settings

in the box HTTP Proxy: type this -   127.0.0.1

in the box Port: type this -   3128

click ok.

Offline storage set to 0 (that's a zero)

click Clean now.

click Ok to close

You are now using a memory cache instead of a Harddrive one. Enjoy a
little more speed.  8-)
