No I am not sure yum-updatesd is doing it. Do you have any other suggestions? In any case, I set iptables thus: -A OUT -p tcp --dport 20:21 -j LOG-FTP-DROP with LOG-FTP-DROP appropriately defined, so I will see if anything else is doing it.
