It's not the *only* drawback.  The NVidia supplied drivers stuff up the
Xorg installation.

If you only ever use theirs, you probably won't notice the problem.  But
if you ever have to use something else, you will.  Then you'll have the
fun of removing the NVidia drivers, and restoring Xorg to a proper
state.  Whereas, if NVidia didn't bugger things up, you'd simply have
selected to use a different driver.

And whilst you might think you'll only ever use one driver, seeing as
most people only have one set of graphics hardware, sometimes you do
find it necessary to try another driver, when a problem occurs.

You need to take that into consideration before using their drivers.
