FC7: problems with WOL

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello, List
I've mounted 2 identical NICs (realtek rtl 8139c) that FC7 identifies as eth0 and eth1.

now

ethtool eth0

gives me the following:

Settings for eth0:
        Link detected: yes

ethtool eth1 gives me really more instead:

Settings for eth1:
Supported ports: [ TP MII ]
        Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                                100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
        Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
        Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                                100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
        Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes
        Speed: 10Mb/s
        Duplex: Half
        Port: MII
        PHYAD: 32
        Transceiver: internal
        Auto-negotiation: on
        Supports Wake-on: pumbg
        Wake-on: g
        Current message level: 0x00000007 (7)
        Link detected: no

I've added added ETHTOOL_OPTS="wol g" both at /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 and ifcfg-eth0
but in this last case something goes wrong.
at
service network restart
I obtain the following error message for eth0:

Bringing up interface eth0: Cannot get current wake-on-lan settings: Operation not supported
  not setting wol

that's strange (remember the 2 NICs are identical...)
Please note that I've the xen virtual network interface bridged to eth0
maybe this is the cause?
please note also that I've correctly implemented WOL settings on my asus P4B533-E motherboard bios.
thanks a lot in advance for your reply,

fabianope
