OK...so here's where I am at this point.

a) X is failing to start with the error:

(**) NVIDIA(0): Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"
(**) NVIDIA(0): Enabling RENDER acceleration
(II) NVIDIA(0): Support for GLX with the Damage and Composite X extensions is
(II) NVIDIA(0): enabled.
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module!
(EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting ***
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"

b) I have removed the 2.6.23.14-107 kernel:

[root@fedora8 ~]# rpm -qa | grep kernel
kernel-devel-2.6.23.15-137.fc8
kernel-2.6.23.15-137.fc8
kernel-xen-2.6.21-2952.fc8
kernel-headers-2.6.23.15-137.fc8
kernel-xen-2.6.21-2957.fc8

c) The following nvidia packages are installed:

[root@fedora8 ~]# rpm -qa | grep nvidia
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-169.09-4.lvn8
kmod-nvidia-2.6.23.15-137.fc8-169.09-7.lvn8
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-169.09-4.lvn8
kmod-nvidia-169.09-7.lvn8

d) I'm getting the following error when attempting to do a yum-update:

Downloading Packages:
Running rpm_check_debug
ERROR with rpm_check_debug vs depsolve:
Package kmod-nvidia-2.6.23.15-137.fc8 needs kernel-i686 =
2.6.23.15-137.fc8, this is not available.
Complete!

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks.
