The message was: from syslogd@localhost at Feb 19 07:09:52 journal commit I/O error I thought for a moment that all was well. Here is smolt profile for the machine: Errata Found! http://www.smolts.org/wiki/pci/1106/3044/1106/3044 To share your profile: http://www.smolts.org/client/show?uuid=pub_d987b6b2-71ec-4cfd-82c8-e822f9a5ec5a (public) [root@localhost olivares]# uname -a Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.23.14-107.fc8 #1 SMP Mon Jan 14 21:37:30 EST 2008 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux [root@localhost olivares]# rpm -qa kernel kernel-2.6.23.9-85.fc8 kernel-2.6.23.1-49.fc8 kernel-2.6.23.15-137.fc8 kernel-2.6.23.14-107.fc8 so that kernel is history again :(. Till a newer and better kernel comes out or I get it from Dave's repository :) maybe a 2.6.24.2 based kernel.
