I am running fc8, received gift of Quickcam Pro 9000, and need

I need to run list of commands to identify what is happening, like

camera is faulty.
Tom
unplug the camera
then plug it back in again..
then tail -30 /var.log.messages
post the output here

Thanks, hope this is meaningful.
Tom
i am unfamiliar with uvcvideo ...
maybe this link will help
http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/
Brian: Thanks for the link. I'm working with:
http://openfacts.berlios.de/index-en.phtml?title=Linux+UVC
now. In the meantime, looks like I installed when booted to PAE
kernel, and was trying to run luvcview with planetccrma kernel. The
video is working when in PAE kernel. I'll now try to get steps to
control module loading and unloading (seems audio needs to load before
video).
Thanks, Tom
i would have thought that provided the modules are in the correct place
that the kernel would be able to load them automatically.
Glad you are making some progress though.
