The problem has nothing to do woth DNS not reolve.conf. It is the permissions on
some compnent of the sound system since:
1. The command works if the permission of /dev/dsp as 666
2. It works as root with the permission of /dev/dsp as 660
I would love to know what component has the wrong permissions.

1. My DNS is working properly and I can surf the net
2. I was trying all this, as a usr (not as a root)
3. permission to /dev/dsp is as follows
crw-rw----+ 1 root root 14, 3 2008-02-14 16:57 dsp
4. Through GUI mode still not working
There is nothing in name, unless you are using it as username
