obviously, you are not familiar with bacula.

;-)

like amanda, it takes some time to set up and master. Both have a
complex set of options and both use a server/client concept and a
diversity of devices. DVD's probably represent the least of all storage
device options used. It is realistic to expect it to take a few hours to
set up your first backup set.

I would never say that either bacula or amanda are simple to use.
