That looks nearly identical to the patch I eventually came up
with :-). I found that using the wxGTK source worked for me (that
was the first one I tried). Maybe any of them will work.

I did submit my patch as a bug report on the truecrypt bug reporting
form, so maybe a 64 bit buildable version will show up officially someday.
