Weird.
I'm using rdesktop under F1...F8 and RHEL/CentOS to connect to Windows
2K/XP and 2K3 machines for years now.
I've got SELinux enabled with iptables in block-all/exclude-some mode.

Can you start rdesktop under strace and post the output ?
