Yes indead it was a HAL thing, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

The file /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-music-players.fdi
changed from F7 to F8.
In F7 the iAudio X5 player had an own entry (<match
key="@storage.originating_device:usb.product_id" int="0x510">)
in F8 the line was changed to
<match key="@storage.originating_device:usb.product_id"
int_outof="0x500;0x510;0x520;0x602;0x604"> to handle similar players
in one entry, which apparently does not work.

After creating an entry for the X5 alone everything is working like before.

Should I file a bug?
