pwc+webcam issues in F8

Hi,

I recently upgraded from F6 to F8 (kernel 2.6.21-2952.fc8xen). Although my Philips PCVC690K webcam is recognized as such by the system:

$ dmesg | grep pwc
pwc: Philips webcam module version 10.0.12 loaded.
pwc: Supports Philips PCA645/646, PCVC675/680/690, PCVC720[40]/730/740/750 & PCVC830/840. pwc: Also supports the Askey VC010, various Logitech Quickcams, Samsung MPC-C10 and MPC-C30, pwc: the Creative WebCam 5 & Pro Ex, SOTEC Afina Eye and Visionite VCS-UC300 and VCS-UM100.
pwc: Philips PCVC690K (Vesta Pro Scan) USB webcam detected.
pwc: Registered as /dev/video0.

it isn't recognized as either cam or scanner anymore by software. It just says there's no cam detected. When I connect it to a Ubuntu 7.04 system (kernel 2.6.20-16-386), it's recognized and works.

Can somebody please tell me what may be going on with F8?

Thanks.
