The console of the first UNIX systems were hard copy TTYs at, what, 50 CPS. That sort of economy extends to today for me. If I need to see a application's configuration files I know how to access them. BFD!!!! Oh BTW, I have quit using vipw and friends in favor of plain vi, vim or emacs. OK I started administration of *NIX systems before vipr was developed or I heard about it. Oh and I started with *NIXes with 4.1a BSD.
