Unfortunately, I can't recreate that behavior on my ipw3945-equipped machine. In fact, -63.fc8 is probably one of the best performing kernels for wireless on that machine so far. Some Googling suggested that the problem might be related to using the wrong rate scaling algorithm. But -63.fc8 has the patches that are supposed to ensure that you are using the right one with iwl3945 and iwl4965. You are using -63.fc8?
