In order to compile Courier, you'll need to install several "-devel"
pacakges.
First, you'll need to get courier-authlib from the same page at which
you found courier. Build and install those packages. Then install the
remaining build requirements:
yum install expect gdbm-devel pam-devel gamin-devel openssl-perl \
ghostscript mgetty-sendfax netpbm-progs pcre-devel
