nfs share seems to cause kde crash on logout

I have a laptop which is a client for an nfs share served by a desktop.

The share is seen perfectly normally in the client machine and in the
kde desktop a remote share icon comes onto the screen when the user logs in.

When the user logs out a kde crash handler pops up for a brief time before
the logout completes - but this seems to have no adverse effects and the
same user can login again without any problems.

This began to occur with f7 after some updates in the past few days. I have
now installed f8 on the same machine - and this behaviour occurs in the same
way in f8.

Does anyone else see this behaviour on a machine which is a client for
nfs shares?
If so is there a fix for this?
