I have the same problem. I'm not using a laptop though - my hardware is an intel mac pro. The system works fine with kernel-2.6.22.9-91.fc7, but stalls on "Starting udev" using kernel-2.6.23.1-21.fc7. I don't have a rescue disk with a 2.6.23 kernel on it. Would that be something worth trying to get more information about this problem? If so, could you recommend where I could get a USB stick or cd boot image for one?
