Wow, didn't know about this feature!
Turns out some of my drives actually have NCQ but unfortunately the SATA controllers don't seem to be compatible/supported (nvidia MCP51, broadcom BCM5785 [HT1000]). Next time I'll check if the motherboard supports NCQ before buying :)
Here's what I see in dmesg:
ata2.00: 586070255 sectors, multi 16: LBA48 NCQ (depth 0/32)


On further inspection, MCP51 should support NCQ:

Seems it's in the -mm tree, if I'm not mistaken? Guess I'll wait for it to become merged into mainline.
