One of the cool things about rpm is it maintains a database of which package is responsible for which file. When you have a question like that, you can do rpm -q --whatprovides /etc/rc.d/init.d/nvidia or whatever the actual filename is. If any package owns it, it will be shown, and you can rpm -e the package to get rid of it wholesale.
