That's not a failure (technically)  it is a problem though, and it
means that the _default_ display settings are not working with your
display.

I mean you either use system-config-display or you modify the conf
file directly.. .no need to do both.

I don't have  <Monitor> section myself, but looks okay otherwise. The
xorg.log may have more info.
