Hi All, I was wondering if anyone knows whether its possible to update yum froma file containing a list of packages (one per line). I have tried: yum -y install < file-name
Better: yum -y install $(cat filename) makes from the lines of filename the options list (package list) for yum. Regards Joachim Backes
but that didn't work.I also had a look through the `man yum' manual and there doesn't seem to be any direct flag available for yum to take its input from a file rather than the terminal itself. I was wondering if anyone else might be able to offer any suggestions? Thanks for your help. All the best.Cheers, Tony Crouch
