Supposedly the newest ATI proprietary fglrx will work with that chip; I don't 
know (my 640m has the built-in intel video, which works quite well, even with 
Beryl).  Not as fast, but it is solid.  What's odd is that FC6 worked.  Of 
course, fglrx won't do AIGLX yet, so....

Yep, the higher-end ATI cards are problems, that's for sure.
