Can't say I remember Ipods been talked about before. I'm 'trying' to

Windows- IPod access is a must; getting the dvd burner dialed in, is
another must. I haven't had any luck with my dvd burner and FC6
though. So... do IPods work in FC6 and or F7?
I have an early model IPod with firewire interface. It worked with
FC5 but for F7 there is a problem with firewire. In dmesg I see:
firewire_sbp2: orb reply timed out, rcode=0x11
I haven't had time to research this, or even try other firewire
devices.
I recently acquired a iPod 4G 20GB (Greyscale) and only got the firewire
cable with it. It seems to work fine with F7 (everything in dmesg seems
fine), however it seems to lock up Gnome for 30 seconds or so. It opens
a File Browser window that stays blank for about 30 seconds then come
up... All open applications still respond but nothing with the desktop does.
BTW, can anyone tell me the proper way to change the volume name? The
previous owner (my sister) changed the volume name (under windows) and I
haven't found an easy way to alter it.
Thanks,
Richard
