If I am reading the specs correctly, it has a four tape magazine. The error on lun 1 is probably the response from the tape changer that the kernel does not understand. I don't think the kernel supports tape changers directly, but there are some user space programs that support some changers. You will have to see if yours is supported. Take a look at the mtx package. You can check the drive itself using the mt command. (mt-st package.)
