When i first tried NM it was not useful at all for me as I need the
following - but I'd be interested in trying again if it can support these
functions today (2 years later maybe ... )

     a) profiles - managemnt (I assume)
where i can choose a profile or give it a suite of profiles to scan
picking fastest available automatically. Easy way to add keys as needed for
all profiles.

     a) static and dynamic IP's

     b) wired and wireless

     c) Simple way to toggle wired/wireless in a given 'profile' - usually
wired is static and wireless is not in this case.

Last I tried - it was unable to handle any static IP or wired for that
matter - and the key management was ... well .. not brilliant. That was a
long time ago ... and when on windows I got very spoiled by IBM access
connections tool which frankly is the gold standard for what NM should be
capable of.

I am hopeful it has come a long way ...
