Ah take care, there is an ugly situation with the current kernels and rt2571-based devices. Both the correct rt73usb driver and the bogus rt2500usb driver are loaded, and it doesn't work by default since the wrong driver gets in first. Add this to /etc/modprobe.conf install rt2500usb /bin/true and reboot and retry the rt73usb situation (from the version supplied with the Fedora kernel if you have been cooking your own). It should work fine, I have one of these laptops, on F7 admittedly. Use -Dwext on wpa_supplicant.
