Not nice...  You're supposed to pull the fuse or breaker before working
on fixed wiring.  I wouldn't rely on a switch, some only break one half
of the circuit, and if there's bad wiring, that mightn't be the live
half.

At least, when you're working on stand-alone gear, you can unplug the
cord and take it with you.  The second half is important, there's always
someone who'll see you working on a set, and helpfully plug it back in
for you.  You also ensure that you unplug the device that you're working
on, and not something next to it.
