No Fedora release provided the packages from Fedora Extras in iso format. The iso images have always been the "Core" packages so what you referenced has no merit. Karl and I are comparing the F7 iso images to previous releases. For example in FC5 and F6 you could get the same packages on multiple CD-ROMs as on DVD.
