Now, you do run into problems sometimes when you use non-RedHat repos. This is especially true when they do not have the modules built yet for the latest kernel update. (That is why there are yum plugins that make sure the modules are available before offering the kernel update.) The other thing you sometimes run into is mirrors that are not up to date.
